Young home-grown midfielder who has enjoyed two loan spells with Ipswich Town under former Black Cats' boss, Roy Keane.

The 2011/12 season saw Colback begin to assert himself on the first-team and he penned a new longer-term contract under Martin O'Neill until 2014 in January 2012.

Colback also scored his first goal for the club under O'Neill, a deflected effort in the 1-1 draw at home to Everton.
