Former Darlington caretaker, manager and player Craig Liddle arrived at the Stadium of Light in June 2012.

Liddle had recently left Darlington where he had managed the Quakers through extremely troubled times as the club's boss.

During his playing career, Liddle made over 250 appearances for Darlo before turning his hand to coaching the club's youngsters.
