SAFC loan round-up

SAFC loan round-up
It was a frustrating weekend for young Sunderland striker Ryan Noble who was denied a certain goal by a clattering challenge from Owen Fon Williams.

The Hartlepool United loanee looked odds-on to net as he rounded the Tranmere Rovers 'keeper but was brought down to earn Pools a penalty.

Pools boss Neale Cooper told the Sunderland Echo:

"He`s desperate to score all of the time. It`s not going for him at the moment and I feel for him.'

"It really hurts him and he beats himself up about it afterwards and gets down.'

Elsewhere in League One, Jordan Cook's Carlisle United were beaten 2-1 at Sheffield Wednesday whilst Adam Reed's Leyton Orient drew 2-2 against Yeovil Town.

Goalless Oumare Tounkara continued his barren stretch for Oldham Athletic as they drew 1-1 at home to Preston North End.

Blair Adam's Northampton Town drew 0-0 at relegation-threatened Hereford United in League Two whilst Billy Knott and Wimbledon beat Torquay 2-0.

Finally, in the Championship, West Ham's George McCartney play at Leicester City tonight.
