SAFC Paper Talk #4

SAFC Paper Talk #4
Sunderland could be set to make a move for Manchester City youngster, John Guidetti, according to sources.

The 20 year-old Swedish forward has made a sizeable impression on-loan at Eredivisie giants Feyenoord this season with 20 goals in 23 games.

Guidetti has also been on loan in this country before, spending five games and scoring once for Burnley last season.

Fellow Premier League clubs Swansea and Newcastle are also believed to be interested in taking the 6'1' forward on loan for the season.

However, Sunderland would be keen to bring the one-cap Swede to Wearside on a permanent basis and would hold the greater chance of first-team football.

Another City player still being linked with a move back to the North East is Manchester City winger, Adam Johnson.

The 24 year-old is out of favour at City despite impressing when called upon this year and Sunderland appear keen to try and force a deal through.

Johnson has made 73 appearances for the Citizens since joining from Middlesbrough in 2010.

Finally, Sotirios Kyrgiakos will definitely not be back at the Stadium of Light next season after Martin O'Neill turned down the opportunity to make his loan deal from Wolfsburg permanent.

The 32 year-old Greek international is believed to be wanted back at former employers AEK Athens, and after his shaky displays in the red and white stripes, any faint chance of a return to England is dead in the water.

That's all until next time.
