Betting on Stephane Sessegnon joining Spurs was suspended yesterday, sparking speculation that the Benin attacker would soon be heading to north London.The Black Cat's reigning 'Player of the Season' has of course been linked with a move away from the Stadium of Light all summer, with potential suitors also believed to include Arsenal and Manchester City.
However, Sky Bet closed the book on Sessegnon moving to White Hart Lane yesterday, the biggest indication yet that the former PSG man will not be at SoL next season.
One new name on the long list of those linked with Wearside this summer is
Zenit St. Petersburg forward, Pavel Pogrebnyak.
The 28 year-old scoring six times in 12 games for Fulham on-loan at the back end of last season and is wanted by Aston Villa and Reading too.
Pogrebnyak was unable to help his Russian team-mates out of their group at this summer's European Championships.
Another man at the Euro's who is being linked today is
Spartak Moscow winger, Aiden McGeady.
The former Celtic wide player joined the Russian outfit for £9.5m in August 2010, but has stated his intention to leave when his contract expires in 2014.
Voted the second-best winger in the Russian Premier League last season, McGeady would cost in the region of £5m according to

Louis Saha is also wanted by Sunderland.
The 33 year-old former France international is out of contract after being released by Spurs following the expiry of his short-term contract.
Six goals in 33 league games last season is hardly a lethal strike-rate, but Saha is open to offers:

Finally, in terms of departures,
Asamoah Gyan looks set to complete a move to Al-Ain in the near future after weeks of speculation about a permanent move to the UAE.
Last but not least,
Marcos Angeleri is wanted by Argentinian giants Independiente and Estudiantes.
Angeleri, 29, went for talks with Estudiantes a few weeks ago but a move is, as yet, not forthcoming.
