'If It's Football, It's Vital'

SAFC Paper Talk #9

Sunderland appear once more to be locked in battle with the Mags, this time for two players.

A number of sources are reporting that both Sunderland and Newcastle United want versatile Ajax man, Vurnon Anita.

Anita, 23, can play at left back, left midfield or in holding midfield and is a regular for Frank de Boer's side, racking up over 100 appearances since making his debut seven years ago.

Manchester City's young striker, John Gudetti is also believed to be a target of both clubs too.

Vital Sunderland reported Martin O'Neill's interest in the young Swede several weeks back but it now appears that the Mags want in on the forward as well.

Wolves forward Stephen Fletcher is still being linked with a move to the Stadium of Light.

Wanderer's boss Stale Solbakken has said that doesn't need to sell his star players but with a figure of £10m being touted for the Scottish forward, he might not have a choice.

Finally, Real Mallorca centre-back Ivan Ramis is interesting O'Neill, according to The Daily Mail.

The 27 year-old only earns £11,000 a week and is attracting several Premier League suitors by all accounts.

However, With Carlos Cuellar signing last week and five centre-backs already on the books, it looks to be a pretty flimsy rumour.

As a Villa Fan, MON will probably be quiet in the market until the last week, and then he'll bring in about 4-5 players, so i wouldn't read into the papers just yet.
