SAFC Paper Talk #11

SAFC Paper Talk #11
With just a week of the Transfer Window left, Vital Sunderland round up the latest batch of Black Cats' transfer rumours.

There appear to be a number of players on their way, at least if you believe The Daily Mail, who are linking every spare body at the club with a Steve Bruce re-union.

The other day it was Ahmed Elmohamady & David Meyler who were interesting the former Sunderland boss, today it's striker Fraizer Campbell who's caught the Geordie's eye.

It's also suggested that both Queens Park Rangers & Fulham are chasing the one-cap England striker.

Whilst Louis Saha has signed and Steven Fletcher does look to finally be on the verge of happening, you can't imagine Martin O'Neill would let the club's only other senior forward leave unless a good price was offered.

Kieran Richardson has been linked with a move to Queens Park Rangers today, just the latest in a long line of clubs to have 'shown interest' in the former England international.

In terms of arrivals, Aston Villa left-back Stephen Warnock has been told to train with the Villan's development side.

This, in the eyes of the media, suggests that O'Neill will be readying a bid anytime soon for the England international whom he brought to Villa Park from Blackburn Rovers.

A left-back is on MON's radar, but is Warnock really any better than Richardson and (a fit) Phil Bardsley?

Also being linked with a move to the Stadium of Light is West Bromwich Albion forward, Peter Odemwingie.

Rated at 10m, once more by The Daily Mail, the Norwiegan had an explosive Premier League debut campaign two seasons ago but faltered last term.

On the wrong side of 30, does he really represent value, even if O'Neill has a penchant for wasting money, say bitter Villa supporters?
