Loan watch: Lynch returns to Sunderland

YOUNG STRIKER Craig Lynch returned to the Stadium of Light at the weekend, having completed his loan spell with Hartlepool United.

The 20 year-old forward-cum-winger has been on-loan at Victoria Park for the past month but his loan deal expired after of 'Pools defeat to Crewe Alexandra at the weekend.

Lynch made two starts and four substitute appearances for Neale Cooper's side, scoring his first professional goal in the defeat to Colchester United the weekend before last.

Ryan Noble made his second debut for Hartlepool this weekend, starting up front alongside Steve Howard as 'Pools went down 2-1 at Gresty Road.

The 21 year-old played 80 minutes before being withdrawn and replaced by James Poole.

Evan Horwood put 'Pools ahead in the ninth minute before goals from Chuks Aneke and Mark Ellis secured the win for the hosts.
