SAFC International round-up

Connor Wickham was among the goals for England's U21s on Tuesday night as Stuart Pearce's side ran out 4-0 winners.

Goals from Wickham, Jonjo Shelvey and a brace from Thomas Ince saw England beat Sweden with room to spare.

Goalkeeper Jordan Pickford played for England's U19s on Tuesday night as they beat Denmark 3-0 in Doncaster.

On Wednesday night five further Sunderland players were in action, with Steven Fletcher helping Gordon Strachan to a debut win as Scotland boss.

Fletcher played just over an hour for Strachan's side, who won 1-0 in Estonia thanks to Charlie Mulgrew's first half strike.

Phil Bardsley was not used.

John O'Shea captained the Republic of Ireland to a 2-0 win over Poland in Dublin, with James McClean also featuring.

McClean played 81 minutes before being replaced as Giovanni Trapattoni's side beat Poland with goals from Ciaran Clark and Wes Hoolahan.

Seb Larsson played the full 90 for Sweden who went down 3-2 to Argentina.

An own-goal from Mikael Lustig put Argetnina ahead before Jonas Olsson levelled.

Further strikes from Gonzalo Higuain and Sergio Aguero saw the Argentines win before Rasmus Elm bagged a consolation strike.

Finally, David Vaughan played 45 minutes of Wales' 2-1 win over Austria.
