Wenger Admits That Luck Helped His Side
With Arsenal 2-1 up, Jozy Altidore netted what looked to be a legitimate equaliser only for the goal to be chalked off by Martin Atkinson for a foul on the same player earlier in the move.
That was enough to send Di Canio's heart rate up by a couple of hundred beats per minute and just in the mood for getting stuck into the ref after he allowed Oliver Giroud half an hour to leave the pitch after being substituted.
Atkinson however was not in the mood for listening and sent the Sunderland boss into the stand.
After the final whistle, Wenger told the BBC: "They came back to 1-1 and we were a bit lucky at 2-1, maybe, but we found the mental resources again to win the game and were much more clinical in the second half."
