Poyet Unhappy With Questioning Fans

Poyet Unhappy With Questioning Fans
Boss Gus Poyet is not too happy with some Sunderland fans who openly criticised his decision to replace Adam Johnson in the game against Liverpool.

Poyet took off top scorer Johnson and replaced him with youngster Mikael Mandron which we have to admit, did not seem like the move of someone who wanted to get back into the game.

But Poyet has had a go back at the fans, claiming that some do not have a clue, not the first time he has criticised fans for criticising him.

He told the Chronicle: 'I don't care what they think because if Mika scores you do not ask me that question (about whether the substitution should have been made).

'It is very easy when the game is over. I think it was the right decision. It was at the point where he (Johnson) could not go past people because he was so tired.'

Vital Boxing - Joshua Tells It As It Is

What nonsense! If the criiterion for Johnson being on the pitch is that he can'go past people' he would never get on it. Yes, Gus, if your decisions turn out to be sensible, you can say 'told you so'. But while they remain demonstrably as poor as the organisation and confidence levels of the sides you put out, you would be wiser to keep your mouth shut. It's like saying 'if we had won ten games at home the fans would not be criticizing me'. No , but as you have only won one game and seem to have no idea how to win another maybe it is time you started to care about what the fans think, stop blaming the players (the worst performers in an admittedly weak squad are your own recruits), and thought carefully about playing to the few strengths they have rather than pursuing your eccentric and ineffective formations.
