Poyet Admits Bradford Were Better

Poyet Admits Bradford Were Better
Gus Poyet had to admit that his side were beaten by the better side after Bradford City sent Sunderland crashing out of the FA Cup on Sunday.
'It is not humiliating, it is what the cup brings into the equation.' - Gus Poyet

The home side took the lead in the third minute of the game with a John O'Shea own goal, even if it was a little fortunate. But after that Bradford had the visitors with their backs to the wall for long periods of the game until they got their second and killer goal through Jon Stead in he second half.

Bradford went ahead at Valley Parade inside of five minutes after Sunderland defender John O`Shea scored an own goal. The hosts had the Black Cats on the ropes on many occasions in the game, but couldn`t find the decisive second goal until the second-half of the game.

There is not doubt over which side is on the way up, Bradford are doing well in the league and are now in the quarter finals of the FA Cup, many would say that a side like Bradford had no right to be in the competition at this late stage, but the results are proof of their credentials.

They managed to put four past Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in the fourth round and now Sunderland have felt exactly what they can do.

Poyet admitted that Bradford deserved their passage into the quarter finals, he told he BBC: 'Credit to Bradford, they know how to play these games. It is not humiliating, it is what the cup brings into the equation. If the top teams always beat the smaller teams, then the cup would not exist.'
