Advocaat Left Feeling Indifferent.
Sunderland boss Dick Advocaat was left feeling a little indifferent having gained a good point but missed a good chance of getting all three against tough side, Stoke.

The draw was a big improvement on the 4-1 home defeat to Crystal Palace last time out, but with Hull and Leicester winning, Sunderland are now in the bottom three and one point adrift of safety.

Sunderland even got off to the best start that they could hope for, hitting the Potters from the off and catching them out cold with a goal from Connor Wickham inside the first minute.

But luck deserted them when Jermain Defoe had the chance to give the visitors a two goal cushion, but his effort went into the side netting.

Stoke pulled level on 27 minutes when Charlie Adam lashed in an unstopable effort that gave the keeper no chance.

But after the break Sunderland still continued to create chances in an exciting end to end game but they just could not make the efforts count.

And that was the same for both side as Stoke made a few chances themselves which also lacked a quality finish.

Advocaat told reporters:'Yes, I am because I think in the first half we played very poorly - we were lucky it was 1-1 at half time, so I could change something in the line-up.

'We had had some problems picking up players, but in the second half after the changes everyone knew what to do.

'From that moment on we also started playing football a little bit, it was much better than the first half, and we created three or four good opportunities.

'But they were the kind of chances where, at this level, you have to score because you don't get more than four or five in a game.

'Even in the first half at 1-0 up, we had the chance for Defoe. If it becomes 2-0, you never know what is going to happen then.'

Everton, Arsenal and Chelsea away from home. Our only realistic chance of points comes against Southampton in the next game and then Leicester a couple of weeks later. And I don see us getting much change from Southampton to be honest
