Advocaat Is A Tactical Genius.
Even though Sunderland got off to a dream start with Connor Wickham giving them the lead in the first minute, the boss says that the half time change was needed and its because of his action that the hard earned point was gained.
Sunderland were just becoming second best to everything in the first half after Stoke had equalised. At the break Advocaat switched Buckley for Graham and changed the formation to 4-3-3 and after that, they improved.
Advocaat told reporters "Tactically-wise, we changed it because too many players had too much space for them.
"We changed it to 4-3-3 and from that moment on, it looked much better because we started to play.
"The first half was too difficult to the majority of the players.
"That second half was much better football-wise.
"That`s the reason I made the change, not because Buckley played poor.
"Our midfield was better organised, and then you get your chances.
"But we still had to work very hard to get that result."
