Advocaat Could Stay

Advocaat Could Stay
Dick Advocaat is still not sure that he will be walking away from Sunderland at the end of the season after it was revealed that talks will take place one the battle to stay up is over.

Advocaat's originally came to the Stadium of Light on a short term contract until the end of the season, his aim was to keep the club from dropping into the Championship.

He has said that at his age of 67, his family are hoping that he retires from football and he has also said that the Sunderland job will be his last in football.

But after six games in charge and winning three of them, he is planning to hold talks with sporting director Lee Congerton and owner Ellis Short when Sunderland know what league they will be in.

Asked whether he will have talks, Advocaat told the Northern Echo: "How can I say this? I think so, yes. I can't say much about it, because we'll have to see what happens in the next 14 days and then I'll come back on that.

'It's definitely the case that I enjoy it here. We're really enjoying what we're doing. I realise there's a lot to do with this club, but the main priority is that the club has to stay up and then making sure it has the right set up for next season."
