Good News About Johnson's Injury

Good News About Johnson's Injury
There is some good news for Sunderland this week when the manager Dick Advocaat announced that Adam Johnson could be back in action far sooner than expected.

Johnson had a dislocated shoulder after the opening game at Leicester City last week and it was first thought that the winger would be out of action for at least eight weeks and maybe a lot longer should an operation have been needed.

But the Shields Gazette has reported that the news is better after the player underwent a scan and now the time he will be out of the side has been cut to around six weeks.

Obviously it is still a blow to Advocaat who has been feeling a little frustrated while trying to bring in new players to the club.

The boss said to the Gazette: "Adam had a scan on Wednesday and we thought at first, he would be out for eight weeks as a minimum.

"But after the scan, it was quite positive and he`ll be able to start running again after three weeks.

"It`s a big blow though because he did well in pre-season and we can`t have those kind of players unavailable.'
