Duck! The Toys Are Flying Out Of The Pram
Janmaat says that it was 'unbelievable' that referee Robert Madley sent off the Newcastle captain just because he shoved Steven Fletcher over in the penalty area, thus preventing a clear goalscoring opportunity.
But those are the rules of football and even Newcastle United must stick to the laws of the game even if they do start throwing toys out of the pram after the game.
Adam Johnson must have been hurting inside by the so called injustice to his rivals as he smashed the ball into the corner of the net and celebrated in a calm, controlled manor.
This didn't help things, funny as it was and Janaat went a step further by branding the card not only unbelievable, but 'crazy' as well.
The Dutchman told Sky Sports: 'I think we were by far the better team in the first half, and then we get a red card like this. It was unbelievable.
'I don't like to blame referees, but that was not a penalty. I think everybody saw it - and a red card is crazy in my opinion. It kills the game.
'I don't like excuses, but I think we had 70 per cent possession in the first half and were far better than them.
'In the second half, we lost the game with 10 men. It is disappointing because in the first half we played well.'
Coloccini will now be suspended for Newcastle's next game at home to Stoke on Saturday unless they win an appeal.
