Defoe and Larsson To Miss Arsenal Trip

Defoe and Larsson To Miss Arsenal Trip
It looks like Jermain Defoe and Sebastian Larsson will both sit out Sunderland's up and coming game this weekend against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium.

Both players had to be replaced in the win against Stoke City on Saturday, Defoe has a hamstring injury while Larsson has damage to his medial ligaments to contend with, Sam Allardyce confirmed on the club's official website.

Both players will be out of action for at least a week.

'Jermain suffered an injury to his hamstring not his ankle - he felt it go sadly - and obviously Seb Larsson medial ligaments. Hopefully they will be fit as quickly as possible - they probably aren't going to be fit for next weekend but hopefully the week after,' Alardyce told the club's website.
